Anti Aging Skin Care Products Myths

Anti aging skin care products

Are you looking for anti aging skin care products? Have you thought of buying one?

Anti aging skin care products remind me of the song ’18 till I die’. Indeed, anti aging skin care products are very popular today; and why not, who doesn’t want to look young for ever?

Talking of anti aging skin care products, the first thing that comes to mind is vitamin C based anti aging skin care products. These products work by enabling the synthesis of collagen (a structural protein that is found in skin). This category of anti aging skin care products is related to anti-oxidants. Anti aging skin care products that are based on vitamin C are, however, posed with the danger of getting oxidised themselves (as they come into contact with air during their usage). So some anti aging skin care products are based on the derivatives of vitamin C, which are more stable and less expensive. However, the effectiveness of such anti aging skin care is not as much as it is for vitamin C based ant aging skin care products.

Besides vitamin C, vitamin E and lipoic acid are anti-oxidants too.

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble anti-oxidant that is found in human blood and helps in building resistance against infection. Vitamin E is also known to inhibit cancer. Liponic acid is known to combat the signs of aging very effectively by reversing the skin damage caused by the aging process.

Phytochemicals form the other category of anti aging skin care products. Phytochemical are special chemicals that are extracted from plants. There are a variety of phytochemicals that are in use today. Phytochemicals prevent occurrence of cancer of certain types; these include prostate cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer. That is why they find their place in anti aging skin care products.

Some B-vitamins like B5, B6 and B12 are also in use for anti aging skin care products.

The field of anti aging skin care products is vast and needs a lot of research. Though the currently available products are effective, they still have challenges to combat. Hopefully, these challenges will get resolved in due course and help get better and cheaper anti aging skin care products.

However, anti aging skin care products should be used only as a supplement to the natural ways of skin and body care. So, drinking a lot of water, getting a good night sleep, exercising regularly, maintaining healthy eating habits and keeping stress at bay are essential means of delaying the aging process. No anti aging skin care product can replace them really.

Haritaki is proving itself to be very helpful for skincare.

it contains anti fungal properties that have healed fungal issues. Haritaki also has be helpful in reducing the effects of cuts to the skin.

Now that you know everything about skin care products, it would be easier to choose which one is the best for you.

Haritaki helps Cystic Fibrosis

Haritaki and Cystic Fibrosis

A remarkable young lady named Madhavi Pulakat Gavini, had a relative who was suffering from cystic fibrosis.

Fortunately for the person suffering the 17 year old girl was very interested in science and research. She asked her grandfather, who lived in India. Her grandfather was an ayurvedic doctor and he recommended that Madhavi test some of the standard ayurvedic herbal medicines to see if they  would help.

One of the problems with cystic fibrosis is that the weakened immune system is easily compromised. One bacteria that causes major issues is Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa), which causes infections in the lungs.

Madhavi tested the 10 different herbals against this bacteria and found that Haritaki, Terminalia chebula was highly effective. She had discovered a major breakthrough.

Breaking through bio film using Haritaki

However the Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) is covered with a protective coating that one can liken to a plastic bag. This protects the bacteria from injury. There are currently no drugs available that are able to penetrate this lining, also called a bio film. She had to find out if Haritaki could break through the biofilm, a sticky polysaccharide coat, that is found in complex biochemical forms.

After much research, she was able to isolate the bio film and using Haritaki found that indeed the Haritaki could penetrate this bio-film and destroy the Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa).

She had made a major discovery. For this she won the prestigious  Siemens National Competition and along with it a huge college scholarship valued at $50,000

Pseudomonas’s biofilm has two main functions: the first is protection, and the second is to allow the bacterium to adhere to smooth surfaces like the epithelial cells in our lungs. The biofilm’s stickiness also makes the cells adhere to plastic. So Madhavi put plastic micropipette tips in cultures of bacteria floating in water and growth medium. The stickier biofilm-forming bacteria grew on the tips, and this allowed Madhavi to “fish” out few biofilm-forming chromoisolates from the “rough” strain.

Now it was time to test Terminalia chebula against biofilm-forming P. aeruginosa. When Madhavi looked at the large zone of inhibition produced by Tc against her new isolate, she knew that she was looking at something big. None of the drugs for Pseudomonas infection currently on the market could do what Madhavi had just accomplished: inhibit both rough and biofilm-forming P. aeruginosa.

Madhavi’s grandfather never got to hear about Tc’s success, he died in the spring of 2005. But she still had another influential “who” to consult in India, her physician and Ayurveda practitioner grandmother. “She would go back and talk to my mother about her project,” says Dr. Pulakat. “She wanted to confirm the fact that Tc was not dangerous.” Madhavi’s grandmother reassured her that the extract has been used as a medicine for thousands of years, and is even safe enough to give to infants. Madhavi, hoping to turn Tc into an effective treatment for P. aeruginosa, set about trying to determine exactly what molecule in the extract was responsible for its action. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs, but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys, and intestine.[1][2]Long-term issues include difficulty breathing and coughing up mucus as a result of frequent lung infections. Other signs and symptoms include sinus infections, poor growth, fatty stool, clubbing of the fingers and toes, and infertility in males, among others. Different people may have different degrees of symptoms.[1]  Source https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cystic_fibrosis

Haritaki benefits for Lyme Disease

Lyme Disease can be helped by taking Haritaki

Haritaki has been shown to help Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease is developed from the bites of ticks, and the disease can be present and reoccur over long periods of time.  I have heard from personal experience about the benefits of haritaki on Lyme Disease from clients in South Africa who use Haritaki to control their own suffering from this disease.  This article has great information on Lyme Disease.

Ayurveda & Chronic Lyme Disease

One theory supporting the existence of Chronic Lyme Disease relies on the fact that when threatened, Borrelia spirochetes are capable of secreting a protective biofilm. This biofilm renders the bacteria invulnerable to antibiotics, anti-Lyme herbs, and antibodies that would ordinarily destroy it. Thus enshrouded, Borrelia are believed to lie dormant in their biofilm for months or even years. After such a period, the bacteria can re-emerge and aggravate symptoms of pain, fatigue, and mental and emotional disorientation and dysphoria. Such patients may end up receiving an extremely wide variety of antibiotics over the course of several years, antibiotics that are believed to stimulate the production of the bacteria’s biofilm. When the bacteria re-emerges, symptoms can flare intensely.

A promising advance occurred in 2006, when a 17 year old participant in a Mississippi student science fair utilized Terminalia chebula (Haritaki, one of Ayurveda’s most widely used herbal drugs) to infiltrate the biofilm of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a bacteria often responsible for deaths from pulmonary infection in individuals with cystic fibrosis. Haritaki appears to exert a similar effect on the Borrelia’s biofilm, with current patients reporting a reduction in their symptoms when taking this herb with other anti-Lyme herbs and treatment methods. In patients that have been infected for a year or less, symptoms are reportedly reduced in their intensity by as much as 90% in as short a period as eight weeks. In some cases, biofilm penetration appears coincident with an increase in your symptoms due to greater numbers of bacteria being released into physiological activity. Some patients have reported an increase in symptoms of fatigue and joint pain when starting to take T. chebula, and it seems initially that the herb ought to be administered at a very low dose so as to minimize any possible flaring of symptoms.  Source https://saiayurvediccollege.com/ayurvedic-prevention-management-of-lyme-disease/

Haritaki Dosage for Lyme Disease

As with many uses of Haritaki, it appears that the first dosage of Haritaki needs to be low, so that the person taking it can become accustomed to the effects of the haritaki and not go into reaction from their experience. Haritaki can be taken in pill and powder form and you can order it online from the web site, or from Amazon or from the shopify store.

Great consumer reports of Haritaki and Lyme Disease

I have lyme disease, and been struggling for about 4 years with it. I ran across this powder from two references, so I thought I would try it. I absolutely think this is the best biofilm agent I’ve ever tried. I’ve tried iodine and clove oil, because those are reported to have actions against biofilms, but they pale in comparison to haritaki powder. When I take this product, I can feel areas of my body that have been infected for a long time wake up, so I know they are being affected. This is a miracle for me!

The above is from an Amazon product review. Source here

Another interesting source is here

This is a group chat about Lyme Disease. A number of people here are also reporting research on Haritaki and Lyme Disease as well as other herbs and methods.

Where does Lyme Disease come from?

Lyme Disease is transferred to humans by ticks that fall on to humans from trees and bushes. These ticks are present only in certain areas of the world at certain seasons. It is very important to know what areas in the region you live in have ticks that carry Lyme Disease. It is also important to find out the season that the ticks are active. If you plan on going in to an area where ticks are present then the best prevention is to wear long sleaved clothing and hat, and to check the hair upon your return from your trip.

OLD BIRD GIVEN NEW LIFE THANKS TO HARITAKI!

Parakeet comes Alive!

I noticed my 15 yr old parakeet was really lethargic and not pooping very much. I figured his days were numbered. Then I noticed that his anal vent was clogged. So I distracted him into thinking he was eating something from my mouth then used my other hand to grab him from behind. I rinsed his bottom off under the faucet as best I could. He seemed a little better but in a few days the vent clogged again. This time I cleaned him more thoroughly under the faucet and noticed his vent was red and swollen. So I dipped my fingertip in the haritaki powder and dusted his reddened bottom which was easy to see since his feathers were wet. He immediately became energized even before he dried off and was in a happy mood! He has had normal droppings and good appetite since then which is about a month now!

Deepak Chopra and Haritaki

Deepak Chopra recommends Haritaki

Haritaki is a major component of the health drink Zrii.

Expense Farley, Chopra Center And Zrii The establishment of the Chopra Center endorsing Zrii has an interesting story behind it. It definitely did not simply occur over night. Many individuals have tried to get the Chopra name on their health products in the past without any get. The reality that Zrii has the Chopra Center backing them is worth our attention … and Bill Farley is the male who brought it all together.

Costs Farley, President and CEO of Zrii, knows that liquid nutrition is the wave of the future. And Bill also understands that internet marketing is the real estate of the 21st century. Putting those 2 things together, Bill Farley started his quest of starting the next billion dollar brand name in the mlm industry with a liquid nutritional based item. Costs desired something unique, a first to market item, that had a medical value (not simply an unique fruit mixed with other juices).

That is where the Chopra center (a specialist in ayurveda) came into the picture. Expense just happens to be excellent pals with the Chopra Center as he has constantly enjoyed health and nutrition. It was the Chopra Center that led him to the discovery of the amalaki fruit and it was the Chopra Center that helped form a group of physicians to develop Zrii.

The Chopra Center informed Bill that amalaki is the best fruit of all which it is reasonably unusual in the West. The Chopra Center was so convinced of its value in nutrition that they were ready to be involved in backing the product as long as it past the test of intense scrutiny.

The Amalaki Fruit has its origination in older times. It is supposed to be the standard fruit that remedies several conditions and is supposed to be great for health in general. Filled with several nutrients, this fruit has actually stayed undervalued for many years because of lack of knowledge and know-how about the Amalaki.

Now, however, individuals are gradually becoming more aware of the advantages that Amalaki has to offer, those of vitalizing and revitalizing one’s system. Remember, Zrii is more than just amalaki. It is a combination of effective herbs and fruits such as haritaki which actually implies to “clean away illness”.

Thus was born Zrii, a product of tough work, effort and wisdom of the Chopra Center and Bill Farley. The Chopra Center, established by Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon, brought in the understanding about the Indian herb, and Bill brought in the monetary resources needed. The fact that Zrii has the Chopra Center backing them is worth our attention … and Bill Farley is the guy who brought it all together. It was the Chopra Center that led him to the discovery of the amalaki fruit and it was the Chopra Center that helped form a team of doctors to create Zrii.

Haritaki and Zrii

The Chopra Center told Bill that amalaki is the biggest fruit of all and that it is relatively unheard of in the West. Thus was born Zrii, a product of tough work, effort and knowledge of the Chopra Center and Bill Farley. The Chopra Center, established by Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon, brought in the knowledge about the Indian herb, and Bill brought in the monetary resources needed.

Haritaki heals Dogs

HARITAKI HELPS DOGS TOO!

A number of haritaki users have been writing to me about haritaki and dogs. Here is some  feedback from Lisa B.
I’ve been taking haritaki for about a month and have seen great results. I’ve been giving small amounts to my dogs too. One of them who is older has been very thin, getting lots of lipomas, and I was worried she had parasites. I started out giving her just diatomaceous earth for the parasites for about a month. Then I also added in the Haritaki powder. Within two days, she was expelling live worms in her poop. Sorry if that is TMI, but it’s proof for me how amazing the Haritaki is! Thank you!

Another writer, Louanne Tung, has this to say about Haritaki and dogs:

Also forcing my dog to take 1/4 tsp every night because she has a bladder infection and I find that I think it works better than the antibiotics. Because I started her on haritaki first and saw improvements right away then started her on the antibiotics a few days later when it was available. But then stopped the haritaki two days then and then I saw she went back to having pain while she urinated despite being on the antibiotics. So now doing both.
So for those who want to give their dog haritaki this is what I do. Generally I mix about quarter of a teaspoon (she is 40 lbs) or so in with a few tablespoons of water then I brush her teeth with it! That forces her to swallow it. Or I will use an eyedropper of that same mix. Then she clenches her teeth but dogs have an opening behind the incisors for carrying prey. So I push the eyedropper in through that opening while holding open her lips on the side! And then I put eyedroppers of freshwater to chase it down and then give her a treat!
Thanks Louanne for this!

Haritaki helps decalcify the Pineal Gland

Haritaki and Decalcifying the Pineal Gland

Haritaki has been shown to help in the de-calcification of the pineal gland by removing mercury from the body.

There are many toxins that contribute to calcification of the pineal gland, and these include pesticides, fluoride, mercury, tap water, calcium, sugar, artificial sweeteners, caffeine, tobacco and alcohol.

We obviously want to stay away from this list as soon as possible to reduce the continuance of calcium build up.

To remove the calcium buildup that we already have so that the pineal gland is decalcified we can use Haritaki as one tool. The research on how to use Haritaki to remove the mercury is at this link here. this research was conducted by the well known doctor, Dr. Mercola. he came up with a few different protocols that are all listed in the link above.

How to use Haritaki to decalcify the pineal gland

To use Haritaki to decalcify the pineal gland plan on taking the Haritaki in  either the powder form or capsule form. Plan on taking large doses of the Haritaki, in the order of a teaspoon per day in the evening before bed and after food. You can also take the Haritaki in capsule form, plan on taking 3-6 capsules.

Other ways to decalcify the pineal gland

  1. Distilled water. Take lots of water to flush the system
  2. Beets and beet extract.
  3. Iodine is helpful in decalcifying
  4. Garlic is useful
  5. Vitamin K1 and K2
  6. Raw cocoa beans
  7. Citric Acid, in the form of raw lemon and water is useful

This is a very good article here: source:http://www.med-health.net/Pineal-Gland-Calcification.html

Causes of Pineal Gland Calcification

As noted above, calcification tends to become more severe with age, with many people experiencing symptoms of heavy calcification of the pineal gland by the time they are 17. This means that an MRI or other scan would show a large lump of calcium phosphate on the gland as well as other parts of the body.

This calcification process is caused by constant exposure to substances like fluoride which build up in the body over time. Toothpaste, public water systems, hormones, food additives, excess sugar and sweeteners in your diet or even regular exposure to cell phones has been linked to the phenomenon of calcifying the pineal gland.

Haritaki For Mouth Sores and Ulcers

Haritaki heals Mouth Sores and ulcers

Haritaki is proven to heal mouth sores in both testimonials and also in clinical studies. A very strong testimonial comes from Louanne Tung who lives in the Livermore area of California. She is a strong proponent of Haritaki having had so many great results  in a variety of health issues. She reports that she has helped a number of people with mouth sores and ulcers. The best way to use Haritaki to help with sores is to take the Haritaki as a powder and wet it in your mouth and then with your tongue apply it to the area with the sores or ulcers. Hold the Haritaki in that area for some minutes, typically 5 minutes and then you can swallow the Haritaki powder.

Mouth sores defined

Source:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouth_ulcer

A mouth ulcer (also termed an oral ulcer, or a mucosal ulcer) is an ulcer that occurs on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity.[1] Mouth ulcers are very common, occurring in association with many diseases and by many different mechanisms, but usually there is no serious underlying cause.

The two most common causes of oral ulceration are local trauma (e.g. rubbing from a sharp edge on a broken filling) andaphthous stomatitis (“canker sores”), a condition characterized by recurrent formation of oral ulcers for largely unknown reasons. Mouth ulcers often cause pain and discomfort, and may alter the person’s choice of food while healing occurs (e.g. avoiding acidic or spicy foods and beverages).

They may form individually or multiple ulcers may appear at the same time (a “crop” of ulcers). Once formed, the ulcer may be maintained by inflammation and/or secondary infection. Rarely, a mouth ulcer that does not heal may be a sign of oral cancer.

The of study Haritaki, Terminalia chebula   and mouth sores is listed here:

Use of an aqueous extract of Terminalia chebula as an anticaries agent: a clinical study.

Carounanidy U, Satyanarayanan R, Velmurugan A.

Division of Conservative, Dentistry and Endodontics, Rajah Muthiah Dental College and Hospital, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamilnadu – 608 002, India.

Plant-derived medicines have been a part of our traditional health care system, and the antimicrobial properties of plant-derived compounds are well documented. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of an aqueous extract of Terminalia chebula (a medicinal plant) on salivary samples and its potential for use as an anticaries agent in the form of mouthwash. A concentrated aqueous extract was prepared from the fruit of T. chebula . A mouth rinse of 10% concentration was prepared by diluting the extract in sterile distilled water. The efficacy of the mouth rinse was assessed by testing on 50 salivary samples. Salivary samples were collected from subjects assessed to be at high risk for caries. Salivary pH, buffering capacity, and microbial activity were assessed before rinsing, immediately after, and 10 min, 30 min, and 1 h after rinsing. There was an increase in the pH and buffering capacity and decrease in microbial count. An aqueous extract of T. chebula used as a mouth rinse seems to be an effective anticaries agent.

Increase Wealth with Yoga!

Yogic Wealth creation and asset managment
Yogic Wealth creation and asset management

Did you know that your yoga practice is also increasing your wealth?

We measure our material wealth in terms of assets and liabilities.

We want to increase our assets and reduce liabilities.

We do our taxes, and count our assets. We review the bank balance, manage funds and do an inventory of our belongings, even if they are just an old yoga mat that we look after.

We all know that the old yoga mat is a depreciating asset and our savings account is hopefully an appreciating asset.  We all love appreciating assets because they increase in value over time.

Our engagement of time can also be measured from the asset perspective.

When we spend our time, for instance, on personal beauty, it is like polishing the rusting Volkswagen. Whether polished or not, one day the wheel will fall off and the engine will blow. We are working with a depreciating asset.

If on the other hand, we spend our time increasing consciousness, we are creating an appreciating asset. To use the Volkswagen example, we are replacing the engine with a more efficient one. All the essential parts are being replaced so that the car may look like a Volkswagen but it now functions like a leading-edge Tesla!

What I particularly like about this way of looking at assets is that it takes our current understanding and values and turns them on their heads!

As a Yogi and Life coach, many of my clients are looking to build up their assets, but when they speak about assets they are speaking of financial assets. The above information turns this concept totally in its head.

When I researched the amount that people spend on beauty products in their life, it adds up to an average of $500,000 per person! This money is spent on a depreciating asset. Instead, if that money and time were to be invested in an exponentially appreciating asset, it would yield amazing results!

Other depreciating assets that are worthwhile noticing are foods that do not increase health. Not only do they cost money to buy, but they cost more money to fix the problems they are causing!  We get the high sugar diet fairly inexpensively, but we pay for it with all the illnesses, the ramifications of the illnesses, and the costs of recovery or remediation!

The appreciating asset of meditation can be contrasted with the decreasing asset of watching violent TV shows. The statistics on meditation indicate that every minute increases brain function, increases emotional resilience, and literally reduces violence in the area. What a lovely appreciating asset!

On the other hand, we can all see the effects of violent TV shows and violent words on society, and the obviousness of the deprecation of the societal asset of civility, compassion, and non-violence, all of which has a direct effect on the quality of our lives and our relationships.

The Yogic Way to Wealth

Here is an exercise for you:

  1. Write a list of the activities you do that create increasing assets for you. (Don’t forget to include yoga!)
  2. Write a list of the activities that you do that are in the depreciating-asset category.
  3. Review both lists and decide:
    1. Which activity, that increases my assets, if I do more of will give me a big return?
    2. What activity that decreases my assets, would be useful for me to do less of?
  4. Having made those decisions, plan on how to put them into practice on a daily basis.

Here is a link to my coaching services I can help you sort and stay focused on the appreciating assets of your life.
