Haritaki has been shown to help in the de-calcification of the pineal gland by removing mercury from the body.
There are many toxins that contribute to calcification of the pineal gland, and these include pesticides, fluoride, mercury, tap water, calcium, sugar, artificial sweeteners, caffeine, tobacco and alcohol.
We obviously want to stay away from this list as soon as possible to reduce the continuance of calcium build up.
To remove the calcium buildup that we already have so that the pineal gland is decalcified we can use Haritaki as one tool. The research on how to use Haritaki to remove the mercury is at this link here. this research was conducted by the well known doctor, Dr. Mercola. he came up with a few different protocols that are all listed in the link above.
How to use Haritaki to decalcify the pineal gland
To use Haritaki to decalcify the pineal gland plan on taking the Haritaki in either the powder form or capsule form. Plan on taking large doses of the Haritaki, in the order of a teaspoon per day in the evening before bed and after food. You can also take the Haritaki in capsule form, plan on taking 3-6 capsules.
Other ways to decalcify the pineal gland
Distilled water. Take lots of water to flush the system
Beets and beet extract.
Iodine is helpful in decalcifying
Garlic is useful
Vitamin K1 and K2
Raw cocoa beans
Citric Acid, in the form of raw lemon and water is useful
This is a very good article here: source:http://www.med-health.net/Pineal-Gland-Calcification.html
Causes of Pineal Gland Calcification
As noted above, calcification tends to become more severe with age, with many people experiencing symptoms of heavy calcification of the pineal gland by the time they are 17. This means that an MRI or other scan would show a large lump of calcium phosphate on the gland as well as other parts of the body.
This calcification process is caused by constant exposure to substances like fluoride which build up in the body over time. Toothpaste, public water systems, hormones, food additives, excess sugar and sweeteners in your diet or even regular exposure to cell phones has been linked to the phenomenon of calcifying the pineal gland.
I am at the Kumbh Mela in Ujain India, with about 30 million other pilgrimage makers!
It is a totally wild scene here. I am at the program being run by Paramahamsa Nithyananda. The program is about developing the ability to increase intuition and there are some remarkable events showing up. For instance, the other day about 90% of over 2000 participants shared that they had intuitively recognized various objects using their third eye.
Nithyananda recommends that we all take Haritaki daily as part of our regime to increase consciousness.
The children here are frequently and casually displaying remarkable intuitive skills. For instance, one friend had lost a sacred jewel from his bed area. He had searched three times for it. He went to one of the children. They closed their eyes and scanned and told him that the sacred jewel was inside his suitcase on one corner of it. He went and looked and, lo and behold there it was. This sort of story is quite common the kids are the automatic go to when an article is lost, and their success is almost 100%
Many people here are also reporting great success with Haritaki.
Ian, a professional musician feels that it gives him much more energy. He was developing a sore in his mouth, so asked me for help and took some capsules, crunched on them and reported that he immediately felt some relief, and reported later that the issue was cleared.
One of the highlights the time here is seeing the rapid improvement in third eye reading by the adults and children. Each day more and more people show skills. Today a friend, Sylvia from Vancouver, came to me and told me that she was asked to read with her third eye what another person was thinking. She said that she scanned for about 2 minutes and then saw me. She said,” Dheera?” She was correct, the other person, another friend of mine had decided to visualize me. Sylvia was really happy to have that image appear for her and have it confirmed.
For myself I too have had some breakthroughs. One day we were asked to identify a color that the team lead was thinking of. As soon as the question was asked I sensed the word blue from my internal intuition. This was correct. The next question about what the team lead was thinking was also correct.
Many people here are used to taking Haritaki, they are confirmed long term takers, who feel that the product is helping them a lot. Many of them are able to take it by the spoonful.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda says that there are only two things you need to do daily. I is watch satsang and the other is to eat Haritaki daily
Paramahamsa Nithyananda speaks very highly of the benefits of Haritaki
Parahamsa Nithyananda is having a huge impact on the world. He is currently awakening the third eye and Kundalini energy flow in many thousands of people. One of his core recommendations for anyone on a spiritual path is to consume Haritaki daily.
In fact he gives it so much importance that he has said “just do two things daily: “Watch satsang, and eat Haritaki.” This wisdom comes from a person who has spent years teaching meditation and yoga.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda explains that Haritaki has an immense effect on the patterns of worry, stress and frustration that are so common these days. He says that Haritaki literally removes the grooves from the brain that hold the memory of these patterns. When the patterns are removed, then we can access higher consciousness.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda had his first experiences with Haritaki as a child.
Although he was part of a large family, he describes that he was brought up by this three enlightened teachers, one which was a female.
He met with them almost daily for lessons. One of his teachers was a yogi who was at that time period going through 100 years of being on the planet. Another teacher was Kupermal, who was the teacher of sacred scriptures such as the Vedas, Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. These lessons included extraordinarily difficult yoga practices.
When it was time to learn the more complex scriptures, the Saints would tell Paramahamsa Nithyananda to ingest daily Haritaki. As it is rather nasty to taste, he would ask about why he was to take it and not the other students. The reply from the Saints was that Nithyananda had to catch the deepest meaning of these scriptures, as he is to share them with the world. They could see what was in store for him and wanted him to get the full understanding of the teachings.
Nithyananda’s discoveries about Haritaki as an adult
The second incident that Paramahamsa Nithyananda speaks about is when he was appointed Head of the most ancient Hindu Monastery in South India: The Madurai Mutt. This monastery has been in existence for at least 1500 years, and has an unbroken lineage going back.to its inception.
Upon his appointment there, Paramahamsa Nithyananda discovered that as part of his duties as Head of the Mutt he was required to take Haritaki daily. When he looked into the effects of Haritaki and its spiritual significance, he saw that this requirement was based on truths of great importance. He saw how Haritaki transforms the brain, allowing the Kundalini to rise and the third eye to become active. This is of critical importance to anyone on a spiritual path.
Nithyananda’s impact on the world
If we look around at who in the world is leading in the advancement of spiritual power, compassion, and enlightenment, we see that Paramahamsa Nithyananda stands out above everyone else. His initiation of thousands of young people into third eye initiation and subsequent blindfold reading is remarkable and unheard of in the history of the world.
Haritaki’s impact on the world
When a person of His abilities and stature says “Take Haritaki Daily” as His major instruction, be sure to listen and to nurture your well being with daily intake of Haritaki.
Research indicates that the use of Haritaki helps in clearing Mercury residues from the body
There is a huge body of literature that indicates that mercury in the body causes many different health issues, including mental health issues. I have been tested previously for mercury and have been found to have quite a lot of mercury in my body. Probably from all the teeth fillings that I received as a child. Mercury poisoning is described this way by Wikipedia:
Common symptoms of mercury poisoning include peripheral neuropathy, presenting as paresthesia or itching, burning, pain, or even a sensation that resembles small insects crawling on or under the skin (formication); skin discoloration (pink cheeks, fingertips and toes); swelling; and desquamation (shedding or peeling of skin).
It is also associated with mental illness, and memory loss Some suggest that the mercury in injections of vaccinations cause autism, although this is not scientifically proven.
Researchers have been investigating different ways to remove mercury from the body, and new research indicates that Haritaki does do that.
Haritaki And Mercury
Dr Chris Shade, a leading expert in mercury detoxification has used many different natural products and finds that Haritaki works best. This information is from the famous Doctor Mercola:
What You Need to Know About the Different Forms of Mercury, the Next Generation of Mercury Testing, and How to Detox Safely
Phylogenomics — Gene Activation through Superfoods
“This is a beautiful part of the science called phylogenomics, ‘phylo’ meaning plants, and ‘genomics’ meaning genes,” he says. “What we’re finding is that genes are not always [expressed]…
What are triggers to start expressing these genes?
We’re finding that whole families of genes that can be upregulated together. There’s protein out in the cytoplasm called the Nrf2 protein. It’s held in place there by another protein called the KIP1. When certain chemical triggers hit it, it translocates into the nucleus. When it does so, a whole family of genes that have what I call the promoter region (it’s a way to turn on families of genes and it’s called the antioxidant response element) turns on at once. These are genes that code for production of intracellular antioxidants, as well as production of these phase II enzymes like glutathione S-transferase, and production of these phase III proteins for transport. You’re helping turn up the whole system at once.
What are the things that trigger this?
Well, a lot of these things that we consider ‘superfoods.’ The main family of food chemicals that do this or plant chemicals are polyphenolic antioxidants like you would find in green tea extract or pine bark extract. The one we use the most is called Haritaki. We have a blend called Clear Way Cofactors, where we bring together what we think are the best polyphenolics for doing this. The other side of it is the sulfur-based chemicals.”
Dr Shade links Haritaki as a super-food with the ability to be a powerful antioxidant. We know that Haritaki is a strong antibacterial agent also.
My recommendation:
Take Haritaki daily to reduce Mercury content in your body
“Now that your glutathione levels are up, you can work on building up the other parts of your glutathione system — specifically, enzymes and transport proteins. Your natural production of these factors can be augmented with superfoods.
Plants contain thousands of natural chemicals (phytochemicals) that help your body to work properly, including production of enzymes and antioxidants. One group of phytochemicals is the polyphenol group, which actually helps activate health-promoting genes.3 Polyphenols are abundant in a wide range of fruits and vegetables.” source http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/01/13/mercury-detoxification-protocol.aspx
And is describing how to use Haritaki this is what is stated:
Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) extract5: An Ayurvedic fruit used extensively in Tibetan medicine, called the “King of Herbs;” it has potent effects on your glutathione system and on expression of other intracellular antioxidants, such as superoxide dismutase (SOD)
Haritaki dried whole fruit has a number of advantages over Haritaki powder
Dr Bombay, a US nutritionist has the following advise about how to use Haritaki fruit.
He recommends the dried fruit over powder or capsule because it provides more uses.
He recommends this method of using the dried fruit. Take 7 dried fruits. Put them in water over night this will make a juice drink and reconstitute the dried fruit.
Make Juice drink, add more water and drink juice throughout the day. Whenever you feel like reaching for the anything else, instead take the juice. all the multivitamins are in the fruit. Use a spray bottle and take the juice from Haritaki. You can use the spray bottle to spray your face including your eyes. This refreshes the eyes and makes a tremendous difference in your sight.
Specific uses of Haritaki fruit
Wound cleaning :You can also use the Haritaki to clean wounds. Use the spray to clean these wounds.
Burns. Use on burns to clean the burn and reduce the pain and swelling.
Douche to help with infections in that part of the body.
Enema Haritaki fruit can be used as an enema, very effectively. Use the juice from the fruit. Put this into your enema pot and use.
Eating the fruit once it is reconstituted from dried. The Haritaki fruit can be eaten once it is reconstituted with water. We recommend that you eat the fruit meat from around the seed. We recommend that you eat one fruit per day as the maximum.
Where to buy haritaki fruit
Haritaki fruit is very hard to find in the USA or Canada. You can find the dried fruit online on Amazon and occasionally you can find them at Indian grocery stores. Occasionally you can find where to buy haritaki fruit by phoning Indian groceries in your local area. Many areas in the USA and Canada have a Little India area. In Vancouver BC this area is Main and 41st street or in the Delta area. In Los Angeles the area to buy haritak fruit is the Artesia area.
I recommend that if you cannot find haritaki fruit locally then order the powder or capsules from my online store.
Using haritaki fruit vs powder has only one advantage that I can find. That is to use the dried fruit to make a tea which can be used for eye washes and to wash other parts of the body.

He was born in Spain and served as doctor to the royal court of Spain. His first published work was on medicine called a “Summary of Medicine” As you can see from this, Haritaki was well established as a useful herb in the courts of Europe during this time period. In this case Haritaki was used as a cure for syphilis.
Harvard University has been studying the mystical super powers that Haritaki is purported to support.
The Harvard University has spent time studying Buddhist monks and their abilities to withstand cold. They also studied the brain activities of the monks and found that their brains functioned in quite different ways than most people.
There was much less brain activity in certain parts of the brain that the Harvard University studied. Those parts associated with worry, stress, the flight or fight syndrome etc.
Other researchers have studied the brain of enlightened master Paramahamsa Nithyananda. Dr Juan Acosta-Urquidi found that Nithyananda had the ability to manipulate his brain activity at will. This remarkable finding came about by accident. The researcher reported to me that he asked Nithyananda at the end of the brain scans, “What else can you do?” Nithayanda replied “What would you like me to do?”
Nithyananda then asked the doctor to touch different parts of Nithyananda’s head. As the researcher did so, his QEEG machine would show huge amounts of activity in that part of the brain. Nithyananda was able to create activity in different parts of his brain at will. This is the first time this has been recorded in history. Nithyananda goes on to confirm that Haritaki is one of the keys to brain activation. He says that Haritaki clears out the intestinal tract and increases the oxygen flow to the brain by 300%. This in turn has the effect of clarifying the third eye. The third eye is attributed with many abilities. Included in the list of abilities is the ability to activate the brain at will.
As Haritaki clears out the internal organs and awakens the brain so it also connects with the heart in ways that open the heart to healing and oneness with other plants, animals and humans. In India the children at the Nithyananda gurukul each have a rose that they sit with daily. By sitting with the rose and falling into oneness with the rose they find that roses stop producing thorns. The roses feel secure. These children all take Haritaki as part of their daily regime.
The Indian herb, Haritaki has huge benefits for yoga and is deeply embedded into the yoga tradition throughout India, Nepal and Tibet.
For thousands of years yogis have been taking Haritaki daily to help their yogic path. It is so well known in many circles as essential to the yogic path. In delving into the history of yoga, and yogic practices we find that Haritaki is considered the “King of Herbs”
The yogi has a number of practices for reaching the ultimate realization, also referred to as moksha, Samadhi, or Nirvana. The daily practices can include the following:
Asana practice
Chanting bhajans
Breathing practices
Cleanliness practices:
Tongue scraping
Oil pulling
Neti pot washing of the nasal passages
Enemas for cleansing the intestinal tract
When we look closely at the cleansing practices, we see that they are all designed to create a clear and clean intestinal flow; from the mouth, through the stomach and into the intestines. Why this emphasis on the internal cleanliness? It turns out that Yogis knew about the effects of clogged and unhealthy internal systems long before modern medicine discovered it.
Yoga, Haritaki and the second brain
Only now are researchers discovering what some are calling the “Second brain.” The importance of these internal organs is becoming more apparent. The second brain when functioning well allows the flow of nutrients, and oxygen flow, through the whole body.
In the Hatha yoga practice we twist and turn all the organs in the lower abdomen, releasing stagnant energy and creating a flow of strength and flexibility into that region. In fact, there is well documented evidence of yoga helping irritable bowel syndrome, (IBS).
Here are some quotes about that.
There are specific yoga poses and also full sequences of postures for relieving and preventing all IBS symptoms, as well as other digestive problems. Try any of the choices below to help stablize your GI tract and start feeling better immediately. http://www.helpforibs.com/yoga/poses.asp
Whether the culprit is a big meal, rich food, or something more serious like IBD, bloating and indigestion never feel good. “I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in my early 20’s,” says Govind Das, Kirtan musician and owner of Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica. “After months of crippling sickness and spending eight days in the hospital receiving blood transfusions, I was told I would be on medication to control my Inflammatory Bowel Disease for the rest of my life. But when I took a friend’s suggestion and attended my first yoga class, I knew I had found my path. ThroughBhakti Yoga, asana, and Ayurveda, I’ve been completely medication-free for 11+ years.”
With a combination of deep breathing, stretches that target abdominal organs, and twists that massage and wring out stuck intestinal toxins, this sequence relieves a wide range of digestive discomfort (think: gas, bloating, constipation). And the best part? With better digestion comes more energy. http://www.yogajournal.com/slideshow/8-poses-better-digestion/
The cleanliness is obviously compromised if the internal organs are clogged and there is constipation. Digested food can remain rotting in the internal organs for days. This is where the importance of Haritaki comes in. Haritaki is a cleanser. On the skin it reduces skin ailments. In the mouth it heals sores and ulcers. In the intestinal system it keeps the whole system clear and functioning to high capacity.
Ultimately the greatest benefit of Haritaki to the yogi is the effect on higher consciousness and enlightenment
In the yogic system the whole purpose of yoga is unity, liberation, moksha, enlightenment, oneness, fulfillment. Yogic monasteries in India have been taking daily Haritaki as a spiritual practice for several thousand years. It is now well recognized that it aids in the expression of super powers such as third eye reading. It aids in the development of the brain and especially the third eye awakening. The most modern expression of these yogic powers is taking place in Bangalore India, where there are over 1,000 children who use Haritaki who are demonstrating yogic powers such as third eye reading.
When taking Haritaki for yogic powers the recommended amount to be taken is ¼ to ½ a teaspoon every evening before bed. This allows the Haritaki to work through the whole digestive system, which is then cleansed with the first bowel movement in the morning.
There are a number of types of Haritaki available for consumption. We recommend organic or wildcrafted Haritaki. For yogis who appreciate the importance of cosmic blessings, chanting, puja and vedic ritual, Haritaki Plus – Yogic Super Brain Food offers an important differentiation. This Haritaki It is blessed daily to awaken higher consciousness in the users, through Yogic and Vedic rituals and chanting.
If you are a sincere yogi, looking to take your consciousness to full expression we recommend you take Haritaki Plus-Yogic Super Brain Food, daily.

This new video describes the history and benefits of Haritaki Plus.
Over the last months I have been investigating and researching about Haritaki. What I found out, through the study of historical Buddhism and Hinduism, has been particularly exciting to me. In this post and video I share the benefits and discoveries.
I don’t know if you know, but in India the Hindu religion has been in existence for over 10,000 years. The early tradition is called the Vedic Tradition. In this tradition, there is a medical and healing system called Ayurveda. The Ayurveda system is based on healing the mind/body/spirit, with the goal of leading to higher consciousness and enlightenment. In Ayurveda, the most important herb is Haritaki. It is known as “The King of Herbs” and is recommended as a cure-all for every illness.
Now we have to ask, why would this be a cure-all for all illnesses? It is because Haritaki cleans the whole internal energetic system, which in turns effects every part of the body, including the brain. The most noticeable effect of Haritaki is in the intestines, which begin to function at optimal levels. This area of the body is known in many natural medicine circles as the Second Brain. In fact the stomach and intestines are a very large sensing area . The blood flowing from the intestines goes to every part of the body carrying either high quality blood or low quality blood. When the system is clear, the full nutritional value of the blood is delivered to the body at maximum level.
Tibetan Buddhism recognized this benefit of Haritaki. In doing research I’ve found that, for all sorts of ailments, medicines in Tibet contained Haritaki as a basic ingredient. Haritaki’s usefulness, then and now, continues to be impressive.

The best books on Haritaki that I have found to date!
In my research on Haritaki I am finding some great resources. I want to share with you the best books on Haritaki that I have found so far, and will add to this list as I discover more.
1. Myrobalan :The Elixir of life in the hands of the Medicine Buddha.
This book, written by the German author Udo Stanglmeier is a very detailed and well researched insight into the history of the use of Haritaki through the Buddhist lineage, especially the connection between the Medicine Buddha and Haritaki. His material also looks at the ancient documentation about Haritaki in India, China and South East Asia. He shows the interlinking of the myths and teachings from tradition to tradition, and identifies the underlying themes that are present through all.
Stanglmeier begins the book with the myths relating to the Amrita or Nectar of the gods that are found in Vedic literature from the Hindu tradition, and similar stories from Buddhism.
The book then goes into great depth about the Buddhist use of Haritaki and its mythological properties. He points out that in Tibet Haritaki was used in almost all medicines as one of the components. Because of the remoteness and lack of trees in Tibet the usual ways herbal medicines were made and administered was in large pill form. Haritaki is not common in Tibet and so the Haritaki powder would be transported from India into Tibet for use in the pills.
Stanglmeier explains in the book the importance Haritaki in the modern context. He points out that more scientists are discovering that there is a deeper importance to the use of many of the traditional herbs. He explains that the ancient seers noticed many more benefits than the modern scientific approach reveals.
2. The Caraka Samhita, Ayurvedic ancient text and Haritaki
Amongst the Best books on Haritaki, this ancient text, which it is believed was created 800 years before Christ, is one of the core Ayurveda texts. It has 12 chapters that deal with the preparation of medicines for healing.
He says about Haritaki “There are two kinds of medicine, one which strengthens and one which combats disease. Amondt the types that strenthen, Haritaki takes pre-eminence.
Haritaki is described as being the best remedy for the following:
Good for the senses and strengthens the intellect
Indigestion
constipation
swelling of the liver and spleen
coughs
hiccups
anemia
jaundice
asthma
diseases of the urinary tract.
This book has immense wisdom, not just about Haritaki, but about the nature of healing and the causes of disease. For a book that was first created so long ago it is remarkable.
