Research shows that E.Coli is reduced by Haritaki consumption
Studies published by the US National Institute of Medicine into different herbs and their anti bacterial properties revealed that Haritaki was very powerful in its effectiveness against E.Coli. It was found to be as potent or more potent than regular antibiotics used for this purpose. Here is a quote from the study:
“This herb was found to be as potent as ciprofloxacin, gentamycin, kanamycin, ofloxacin and cephalexin against E.Coli53.”

E. coli is a type of bacteria that normally live in the intestines of people and animals. However, some types of E. coli, particularly E. coli 0157:H7, can cause intestinal infection.
Symptoms of intestinal infection include diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever. More severe cases can lead to bloody diarrhea, dehydration, or even kidney failure. People with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, young children, and older adults are at increased risk for developing these complications.
Most intestinal infections are caused by contaminated food or water. Proper food preparation and good hygiene can greatly decrease your chances of developing an intestinal infection.
Most cases of intestinal E. coli infection can be treated at home. Symptoms generally resolve within a few days to a week.
Symptoms of E.coli infection are listed here:
- Increase in gas
- change in appetite
- cramping of the stomach
- a change in stool discharge to watery or even bloody
- high temperatures and fever
- loss of energy and increased fatigue/tiredness
When there is an increase in symptoms they can look like this:
- dehydration caused by the loss of fluid
- blood in the urine
- skin becoming palid
- easy bruising of the skin
How to take Haritaki to reduce E-coli
We recommend that you take Haritaki Plus daily at night before bed. Take 1/4 teaspoon or 1/2 capsule to begin and increase the amount until you are taking 1/2 tablespoon at night after food, or 3-4 capsules. Watch out for signs of cleansing as your system may be triggered into strong bowel movements by the Haritaki.
