Haritaki has strong antibacterial properties that work very well on a variety of eye issues, including inflamed eyes, dry eyes, watery eyes, and conjunctivitis.
How to use Haritaki with eye issues.
It is recommended that to use Haritaki on eye issues that you make a tea from the Haritaki powder and then sieve this tea at least 3 times through fine cloth. The Haritaki powder can cause irritation if it gets into the eye directly.
How to make a tea from Haritaki Powder
- To make a tea take 1 tablespoon of Haritaki Powder and put into a cup of water.
- Bring the concoction to a boil. Let is simmer for 10 minutes.
- Take the tea off the heat and let it cool until it is room temperature
- Take a sieve and line it with 2 layers of paper towel
- Pour the cool tea through the sieve
- Repeat by pouring the sieved tea through a second set of 2 layers of paper towel
- Check to see if the tea appears to have any sediment in it. It should be clear of sediment.
- If the tea is sediment free then use an eye bath to rinse the eye with this tea.
- Rinse each eye for 30 seconds
- Rinse each eye every 4 hours.
- If any reaction takes place or if the irritation persists see a doctor for advise.
